For my third free inquiry exploration, I set my focus on food photography. When photographing food, I learned that colours had a big impact on my composition, and affected the overall feel of the image.
I wanted the overall feel of my photos to feel warm, especially during the winter when these were shot. In my photo editing app VSCO, I moved the slider to the orange side of the temperature scale, and added some grain for a warm, nostalgic feel.
I practiced first by taking a photo of food that was already presented, as seen below, as a basic introduction, and then tried on my own with the pancakes.

When I had full control of the composition of the image, I picked a neutral background to make the food stand out.
Lastly, for the featured image of this post, I used leading lines to draw the viewer’s eyes down the photo and again increased the warmth to make the window display food more attractive.
