EDTECH REFLECTION #2: Intellectual Property (Copyright)

This week’s lesson on digital copyright was not only very illuminating, but also shocking since I have already gone through 4 years of post-secondary education without this knowledge.

It is bewildering to me that I am learning about this potentially illegal aspect of online content creation only now, but I am glad that I finally am before becoming a teacher so that I can lead by example.

It is important to me that my future students learn to properly cite and reference all of their online material, not just the scholarly articles, which is what I was taught.

From now on, and for this blog especially, all images that are not my own will be sourced from Creative Commons and UnSplash, where images are licensed for reuse with attribution.

Creative commons licensed images are free to share (for different permissions, such as non-commercial or commercial use, free to modify, etc.). Images still require attribution.
